M.E. Civil with specialization in Infrastructure Engineering and Management

M.E. Civil with specialization in Infrastructure Engineering & Management program includes the design, planning, construction, maintenance and management frameworks of various infrastructures across different sectors in Civil Engineering. This programme develops the advanced technical knowledge in infrastructure engineering within the economic, sustainibilty and environmental context. The successful completion of the course helps the candidate to create new infrastructures as well as to manage the existing infrastructure systems.

The ME programmes of 2 years of normal duration are uniquely designed and structured for Engineers who are employed professionals or in the pursuit of seeking employment. These programmes give an immersive professional experience and an opportunity to acquire further competence either in one’s own discipline or gain complementary knowledge in Engineering as well as Interdisciplinary areas to upgrade their career.

Some of the features of the programmes are:

  • Evenings and/or weekend classes.
  • Flexibility in the pace and duration of programmes for the convenience of working professionals.
  • The requirements of these programmes are described in terms of the total number of units which a student must complete rather than the duration. However, most students may be able to complete such a programme in two years.

Eligibility Criteria For Higher Degree Programmes (M.E.)

The following eligibility criteria is applicable for admission to BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus. A candidate seeking admission to a particular programme has to meet the eligibility criteria for that programme as given below:

A minimum aggregate of 60% in the qualifying degree as indicated below for each programme.

M.E. Software Systems: B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc./M.C.A or equivalent.

M.E. Civil (Infrastructure Engg. & Mgmt.) : B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or its equivalent. (B.E. Mechanical & Electrical may also be considered with some deficiency courses)

Candidates who meet the above criteria will be required to appear and successfully clear the Aptitude test/Interview to qualify for admission.

Application Procedure for Higher Degree Programmes (M.E.)

The Application procedure for admission is listed in detail. Please ensure that you read the instructions carefully and submit all of the documents to avoid disqualification.

For Higher Degree Programmes

  1. Read the Admission Bulletin 2026-27 carefully.
  2. Application for Admission must be filled online.
    Online Application procedure: (Read instructions given below before proceeding to fill the online form).

    • Visit admission.bitspilanidubai.ae and sign up as a new user and select Apply Now” link under the Programme Level “Higher Degree (M.E./ M.B.A.)”.
    • Ensure the correctness of all entered data before submission. Once you confirm the correctness of the entered information and submit the form, the entered data will be recorded and you will not be able to change it.
    • On starting the application you will be allotted a unique reference number and you will be directed to proceed for Application fee payment.
    • You have the option of paying the fee online through Debit or Credit Card or paying offline either by Cash or Bank Transfer (Refer Section 6 below for fee details).
    • Upon successful completion of online application fee payment you will be allotted a unique application number and you will be instructed to upload your documents.
    • Upload the required documents(jpeg or pdf format) and your submission will be complete.
    • In the event you opt for offline application fee payment(Cash or bank transfer), send the proof of fee payment along with Applicant’s name and Application reference number by email to admission@bitspilanidubai.ae for the allotment of unique application number.
    • Upon receipt of the unique application number, you can proceed to upload the required documents(jpeg or pdf format) and your submission will be complete.
  3. For candidates submitting the application and fee online, the system will generate a unique application number. You may note down the number for all future references. For those candidates who are opting for offline submission or payment, a unique application number will be allotted and informed to the candidate by the institute on receipt of the application and fee. In all subsequent correspondence with the Institute, the candidate must quote this application number.
  4. Documents required to be submitted with the application form:
    • Copy of 10th class mark sheet/certificate for date of birth.
    • Copy of the transcript and degree of Qualifying Examination, such as Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. If the degree copy is not available, at the time of applying, , upload or email this as soon as the same is available. If the transcript is not available, Mark sheets of all semesters/years of the qualifying degree should be submitted.
    • Copy of the ID for U.A.E Nationals. For candidates with other nationalities, passport copy (first 2 pages and last 2 pages), and U.A.E visa page if holding U.A.E. residence visa. Candidates, who do not possess a valid passport at the time of applying, must enclose a declaration along with the Application, that they will fax the required Passport pages on or before the last date.
    • TOEFL/IELTS Score Report (For candidates completing their qualifying degree in Non- English medium).
    • A 250 – word statement of purpose describing what you propose to achieve by doing this programme and your ultimate goal.
    • If you have given preference to M.E. Software Systems, give the details of the courses/projects done by you in the area of computers and software.
  5. Application Fee to be paid at the time of submission of application form:
    An amount of AED 220.00 only (Arab Emirates Dirhams Two hundred and twenty only) payable online by Debit/Credit Card or payable offline either by Cash or Bank Transfer (Refer Page 28 of Admission Bulletin for bank details). Application received without application fee will not be considered.
  6. Incomplete application will be rejected.

Scholarships and Concessions for Higher Degree Programmes
Academic Year 2026-27

  1. For New Admissions
    • Merit in Qualifying Examination (B.E./B.Tech. or it’s equivalent).
      • Tuition Fee Scholarship: Students who have obtained 75% or above in the aggregate of the Qualifying Examination are given a merit scholarship of 20% of first semester tuition fee.
    • Students who are UAE Nationals will be offered 50% tuition fee scholarship based on their performance in the qualifying examination for the first semester and continuity of a minimum CGPA of 6.00 on a 10.00 scale for the subsequent semesters during the programme.
    • BITS Alumni, Candidates from Collaborative Organizations & Companies and Siblings/Parents of continuing students will be offered a 10% concession on the tuition fee, during the normal duration of the programme.
    • Group Concession for Corporate Executives: Three or more candidates from the same organization seeking admission into any higher degree programme in any semester of the academic year 2026-27 would be eligible for a 10% concession on the tuition fee for the normal duration of the programme subject to continuance of the degree programme by all candidates.
  2. Merit Scholarship for continuing students: Students with a CGPA of 9.00 or above on a 10.00 scale at the end of previous semester will be given a merit scholarship of 20% of tuition fee for the current semester for the normal duration of the programme.

Note: A fee of AED 4000 per course plus VAT is applicable for casual students registering for any course on audit only during any semester apart from a one-time admission fee.

Fee Payment Instructions

The admission fees can be paid by any one of the modes given below:

  • Payment by Cash: The fee can be paid by Cash in AED or USD at the Fee counter in the Institute.
  • Payment by Cheque: Payment by cheque will be accepted only if the cheque is from a bank based in UAE. All Cheques should be drawn in favor of “BITS Pilani FZ LLC” and payable in AED at a bank in Dubai. There should be no corrections or alterations on the cheque.
  • E-payment: We offer a secure e-payment facility to pay your fee. For e-payment click here.
  • Payment by Telex/Bank transfer: Payment can be made directly to one of our bank accounts given below through your bank along with collection charges if any. The TT advice/receipt copy received from your bank must be sent to the Accounts department, by email (accounts@dubai.bits-pilani.ac.in), mentioning the name & application number of the student.
  • Payment by Demand Draft: All Demand Drafts should be drawn in favor of “BITS Pilani FZ LLC” and payable in AED at a bank in Dubai.

Please note that the fee must be paid in full and any charges towards collection or clearance of DD/TT must be borne by the students. The Institute will give credit only to the Net Amount credited in its bank account.

Refund Policy

  1. One-Time fee:
    • Application fee and Admission Fee are non-refundable.
    • Activity fee is fully refundable if the student withdraws before the date of registration. If the student withdraws within four weeks from the date of registration, whether the student registers or not, 75% of the Activity fee is refundable. If the student withdraws after four weeks from the date of registration, the entire Activity fee is non-refundable.
  2. Tuition Fee:
    • If a student accepts the admission offer and completes the admission formalities but withdraws before the date of registration, 80% of the first installment of first semester tuition fee is refundable.
    • If a student withdraws within one week of the date of registration irrespective of whether the student registers or not, 50% of the first installment of first semester tuition fee is refundable.
    • If a student withdraws after one week of the date of registration irrespective of whether the student registers or not, the first installment of first semester tuition fee is non- refundable.
  3. Hostel Fee and Mess Fee:
    • If a student opts not to avail the hostel facility after paying the hostel fee and if the request for the same is received before the commencement of the semester, 90% of the semester’s hostel fee, mess fee and facility fee is refundable.
  4. If request for not availing the hostel facility is received within one week of the commencement of the semester, 50% of the semester’s hostel fee and facility fee is refundable.
  5. If request for not availing the hostel facility is received after one week of the commencement of the semester, the entire first semester’s hostel fee and facility fee is non-refundable.
  6. Visa and Medical Insurance fee:
    • Visa fee and Medical Insurance fee is non-refundable, if the same has been applied.
  7. Transport Fee:
    • If a student opts not to avail the transport facility after paying the transport fee and if the request for the same is received before the commencement of the semester, 90% of the semester’s transport fee paid is refundable.
    • If request for not availing the transport facility is received within two weeks of the commencement of the semester, 50% of the semester’s transport fee is refundable.
    • If request for not availing the transport facility is received after two weeks of the commencement of the semester, the entire first semester’s transport fee is non refundable.

    Note: All refunds will take a minimum of 4 weeks from the date of withdrawal.

Visa Terms & Conditions

Student Residence Visa – Terms and Conditions

  1. It is mandatory for all students to hold a valid U.A.E. Residence Visa to study at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus (BPDC). 
  2. If a parent or guardian is unable to sponsor the student, or if the student is a non-resident of the UAE, BPDC can facilitate a U.A.E. Student Residence Visa under the sponsorship of the Dubai Development Authority (DDA) through Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), subject to the submission and approval of the required documents specified in the Student Residence Visa Application Form (Visa Form), and in accordance with the rules and regulations of BPDC and the Government of the U.A.E. (Government).
    As a facilitator, BPDC only coordinates between DDA and the student for obtaining the visa. 
  3. The visa is valid for one year and is renewable annually. Issuance of a new visa and renewal of an existing visa are subject to submission of the required documents and compliance with the rules and regulations of BPDC, DDA, DIAC, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFAD), the Ministry of Health (MOH), and the Government. BPDC is not responsible for any delay, non-issuance, or rejection of a new or renewed visa by the Government authorities. 
  4. The rules and regulations governing visa issuance by GDRFAD, MOH, and the Government may change from time to time. 
  5. All mandatory documents mentioned in the Visa Form must be submitted to the BPDC Admissions Department and/or International Student Services (ISS) on or before the scheduled date. 
  6. For visa renewal, students must submit the required documents to ISS at least 8 weeks prior to the residence visa expiry date or on or before the scheduled date communicated by ISS. Students must not travel outside the UAE while the visa renewal process is underway. Visa renewal can only be completed if the student is physically present in the UAE. Any consequences arising from non-compliance shall be borne by the student. 
  7. Submission of invalid documents, non-submission of required documents, late submission, or delay in completing visa medical and/or related formalities beyond the scheduled date as stipulated by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) / Emirates ID Authority, or the Institute may result in immigration fines and penalties. The student shall be solely responsible for such fines and penalties. 
  8. Valid health insurance is mandatory. Students must undergo a medical examination as prescribed by MOH/GDRFAD at designated government hospitals after arrival in the UAE for issuance of the student e-residence visa. The medical examination and related processes generally take 3–5 weeks. If a student is declared medically unfit by MOH/GDRFAD, the residence visa will not be issued or renewed, and the student must leave the country immediately after cancellation of the visa. 
  9. After issuance of the e-residence visa, students may travel outside the UAE multiple times. However, students must not remain outside the UAE for more than 180 consecutive days. If a student stays outside the UAE beyond 180 consecutive days, the residence visa will become invalid, and re-entry into the UAE will not be permitted on that visa. 
  10. The visa facilitated by BPDC is strictly for educational purposes. Students are not permitted to undertake employment under this visa. 
  11. Students must contact ISS at least one month prior to visa expiry for renewal procedures. 
  12. Students are required to pay AED 2,900/-* towards fresh visa and related service charges. The amount paid towards fresh visa and related service charges is non-refundable. 
  13. Students who are residents of the UAE under their own sponsorship and wish to transfer to the visa facilitated by the Institute through in-country/local status amendment must pay AED 4,700/-* towards fresh visa and related service charges. In such cases, students must submit the original passport and visa cancellation document immediately after cancellation of the existing visa, along with all other required documents, for processing of the student visa. 
  14. Students must pay AED 2,150/-* per year towards visa renewal and related service charges. 
  15. The visa and related service charges include AED 280/- towards the mandatory Emirates ID (EIDA) card issued by the Government. 
  16. Visa renewal and related service charges must be paid prior to applying for renewal for the subsequent year. 
  17. Visa cancellation can only be processed within the UAE by DDA through BPDC. Upon completion of the programme and/or prior to leaving the Institute, the student residence visa must be cancelled through BPDC ISS, irrespective of the visa’s validity period.
    Students must complete all necessary formalities, including submission of the original passport, EIDA card, and payment of cancellation fees. The cancellation fee is AED 1,850/-, of which AED 1,000/- is a refundable visa deposit. The normal processing time for cancellation is 10–15 working days.
    Students who have remained outside the UAE for more than 180 consecutive days must also cancel their visa through ISS, even if the visa has become invalid. Failure to do so may result in serious consequences in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Institute, DDA, GDRFAD, and the Government. 
  18. Students must remain informed and updated regarding the rules and regulations governing their residence visa as stipulated by GDRFAD. 
  19. Students must comply with all rules and regulations of BPDC, DDA, GDRFAD, and the Government. Non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations may result in penalties, including deportation, for which BPDC shall not be held responsible. 
  20. Cancellation of an entry permit requires a minimum of 10–15 working days.
